ALASKA MOOSE HUNTING

As the dwarf birch brush begins the transition from green to red, and the days begin to take on the feel of fall, our season for trophy Bull Moose begins. Starting Sept 1st and running until Sept 20th we pursue trophy class bulls in our area. Our Moose area is on a draw style hunt, as with our Dall sheep and Rocky Mountain Goats, and the draw begins November 1st and ends December 15th.

The results are released in February. Our moose area is vast and we have the ability to be mobile via small bush planes to locate camps in the midst of moose habitat. Mountain Horseback Hunts: *Mountain Caribou, Goat, Grizzly & Moose:
The 'Traditional Horseback Hunt':
Catch a float plane to a wilderness lake, where the pack string will be waiting. Hunt out of 'rustic' cabins, or spike out into the mountains. Add a Mountain Caribou or a Mountain Goat to your Moose hunt - and possibly a Grizzly tag. Be prepared for some serious mountain riding, spectacular scenery and incredible game.

*Lake Hunt for Trophy Moose:*
You're looking for a big moose - 50" to 60", with great fronts, massive paddles - and a good chance of making 'the book'. Fly-in to a wilderness lake, where you may be the only hunter this year. You will take a tent with you, as there is nothing there - except exceptional moose habitat. It's a rut hunt - your guide will call in the Big Bulls. You will use a boat and/or do a bit of hiking to get around. Don't forget your fishing rod.

BI pursue record-class Alaska/Yukon moose in the northern Talkeetna Mountains and within the World famous southeastern Nelchina Basin.  These regions have produced exceptional World-Class bull moose since the early 1930’s and continue to produce gigantic trophy moose even to this day.  Bull moose within my 12,800 square mile Guide Use Area average at least 60 inches in antler width and most trophy bulls score well in excess of 200 Boone & Crockett inches.  MAKE NO MISTAKE, THESE ARE BIG MOOSE!

My hunts in pursuit of Alaska/Yukon moose are conducted during the month of September, when all nuances and facets of the moose rut are present and corresponding rutting behavior is evident.  I conduct only two (2) moose hunts each year and those hunts can be booked as one-on-one or two-on-one (hunters:guide ratio) itineraries.  Hunts are ten (10) days duration; all-inclusive from Anchorage, Alaska.  This includes ground transportation and air charter to/from the field.

Great Alaskan Brown Bear Hunting

KODIAK BROWN BEAR HUNT or Peninsula BROWN BEAR HUNT Alaska Brown Bear hunting deserve the capital letters. You will always remember your first close encounter with the Monarch of Alaska. Depending on the time of the year, Cottonwood Creek Guide Service may hunt high up in the snow, to catch the big boars as they come out of hibernation in late April or sneak along the salmon streams in October for a taut nerve up close and personal experience. More laid back late spring coastal Alaska brown bear hunts are also productive. The hand deep thick fur of a coastal brown bear has to be seen to be appreciated. I prefer that you use a .338 or larger on these extra large brutes and a .375 H&H is the best if you can shoot it. For pure excitement nothing in North America can beat an Alaskan bear adventure.
